Fog situation improves in Delhi
The new year has spelt misery for those travelling by rail and air. Wednesday was the third consecutive day of flights to and from Delhi being disrupted by fog. However, the sky cleared up early on Wednesday and the visibility at Delhi airport has improved, climbing above 1800 metres. Most flights, which were delayed or rescheduled, are now taking off. Three International flights have managed to land safely and one domestic flight has taken off in the last couple of hours. Air Deccan's Delhi-Bangalore flight DN 670, Mumbai-Delhi DN 660 and Indigo's Delhi-Jaipur have been cancelled. Seven international and 15 domestic flights have been diverted. The fog has been hitting train services in the Capital as well. Ten long-distance trains to Delhi are running late by three to six hours. Seven trains have been cancelled so far.
