Fog in Delhi leads to fury in Mumbai

The heavy fog in Delhi has thrown flight schedules in Mumbai out of gear. On the first day of the year the year, what could be witnessed at Mumbai’s domestic airport were angry passengers complaining about being mistreated by overburdened airlines. “We were not informed on the phone. We were told the flight was delayed when we got here,” says on passenger. There have been no arrangements of food for the passengers who have been stranded. “They haven't even given us tea, stay is a faraway thought,” says another passenger. Some passengers think that they are only at the receiving end as they feel that they have been mistreated. “The least they can do is respect our intelligence and not talk to us like we are fools while giving us information,” says an angered passenger. Flights from Mumbai to Delhi have of course been cancelled, but the delays continue to have a domino effect on other sectors as well. “The fog is in Delhi but we are getting harassed by the airlines here,” says another passenger. The Mumbai-Delhi sector is the busiest in the country but at present what one can only sense frustration in the air at the airport.
