American Airlines to launch India-specific website

Registering a high passenger turnout flying its Delhi-Chicago non-stop flight launch over the past one year, American Airlines has decided to come up with an official website especially catering to the growing Indian US-bound market. Dan Langford, its managing director (Customer Service), Europe and Asia said, "We are about to launch the India website version in a few months for the convenience of Indian passengers." The site - AA.in - will be custom-made in order to benefit not only customers but even travel agents and prospective target audience. This will entail information specific to the Indian needs. "There has been significant growth in the Indian sky market and service standard need to be supreme. The new website will justify our confidence in this market as another extension of our services," he adds.

Apart from this, the airline is also keen on giving a different taste of frequent flier membership programme through AAdvantage. Langford reveals, "All one needs to do is take a couple of trips with American Airlines and earn mile points that can be used in future travel. This is a win-win situation for us as well as the travellers." American Airlines had a 25 per cent growth in AAdvantage frequent flier membership in India since its operation. Nisha Maharaj, regional manager (Indian Subcontinent), remarks, "Business travellers form the largest part of our customer profile, apart from students travelling to US. This frequent flier initiative will be very beneficial for those looking at US-bound travel on a regular basis."
