Train traffic on Kanpur-Delhi route resumes
Train traffic on Kanpur-Delhi route was resumed after tracks were cleared of three derailed wagons of a goods train.
Ahmedabad-bound Gorakhpur-Ahmedabad Express train had rammed into an empty goods train near Govindpuri station at around 12.40 pm, leading to the derailment, deputy chief traffic manager of kanpur central railway station, J R Meena said here today.
The express train driver received minor injuries and was admitted in railway hospital for treatment. No passenger was injured.
The Gorakhpur-Ahmedabad express was flagged of for its onward journey at around 4 pm, official sources said. Nearly a dozen up and down trains on Delhi-Howrah routes were affected due to the drailment. Normal movement of trains was expected by this evening, sources said.
