Miss Universe, team leave for Mumbai

Miss Universe, Zuleyka Rivera, New-York based fashion designer, Ms Sanjana Jon and 13 international models, part of the 27-member group of IG International, left Goa from the Dabolim airport to Mumbai by the Kingfisher Airlines flight this afternoon.

Zuleyka and her group were supposed to board the Air Deccan flight from Dabolim airport on Saturday afternoon for their next show at Bangalore. But they had to cancel their trip as they were found with excess luggage. The Air Deccan flight DN 306 left the 27 international celebrities behind, including Miss Universe at the Dabolim airport and took off to Bangalore on Saturday. The entire group consisting of 27 members got stranded at the airport for over four and half hours.

Thereafter, they decided to cancel their next trip and preferred to put up at Leela Beach Resorts in south Goa. All the members left for Mumbai by two separate flights of the Kingfisher Airlines from Dabolim airport today. Miss Zuleyka and her bodyguard, Mr Nelson, Ms Sanjana and other five people left at 2.30 p.m. by flight IT 307. While the remaining 19 persons, including 13 international models, departed at 4.30 p.m. by IT 112 flight. The entire troupe will depart to Indonesia from Mumbai. It may be recalled that Miss Universe, Ms Jon and 13 international models were arrived in Goa on a two-day visit to participate in the AIDS awareness campaign and a fashion show held at La Calypso Hotel at Baga.
