Complaint against Air Deccan after Miss Universe misses flight

New York-based fashion designer Sanjana Jon, who accompanied Miss Universe Zuleyka Rivera on her tour of the country, has filed a complaint against Air Deccan after they missed a flight from Goa due to confusion over baggage.

Jon has expressed anger over yesterday's incident in which Rivera and her entourage were unable to take the Air Deccan flight to Bangalore after confusion at the Goa airport. The confusion forced Rivera, her crew and Jon to stay back in Goa for one more day. "There was confusion over luggage and the Air Deccan staff was rude to us," said the complaint addressed to the airport manager. Though the complaints does not refer to any compensation, Jon has named a senior Air Deccan officer for behaving rudely.

"We will forward the complaint to higher-ups in Air Deccan for further action" an airport official said. Rivera was in Goa on a three-day tour as part of an AIDS awareness programme and participated in a fashion show organised by FTV at Baga beach. FTV chief operating officer Bharat Seth sought to play down the incident, saying, "There were some slip-ups but now everything is fixed, and Rivera is leaving tomorrow."
