Train services in two sections to be cancelled from Dec 1

Train services in the Villupuram-Mayiladuthurai and Tirunelveli-Tiruchendur sections will be cancelled with effect from December 1, consequent to the closure of the metre gauge sections for gauge conversion. Among the trains which will be cancelled are fast passenger, slip coach service and Cholan Express operating between Tambaram and Mayiladuthurai. Nagore-Tambaram Express, Karaikkudi-Tambaram Express, passengers between Villupuram and Mayiladuthurai would also be cancelled, a Southern Railway press release said today.

Passenger trains between Tirunelveli and Tiruchendur would be cancelled fully, the release said. Passenger trains between Tirunelveli-Quilon, Senkottai-Tirunelveli and Tirunelveli-Quilon Expresses would also be cancelled, the release added.
