Air India Express flights to Singapore, Dubai

Low cost airline Air India Express tonight announced the launch of flights from Chennai to Singapore and Dubai. Air India Regional Director P K Gupta said Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala will flag off the inaugural flight to Singapore from here on October 29.

The flight from Chennai to Singapore will operate five times a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from October 29. The flight will depart at 11.55 am and return from Singapore at 8.50 pm the same day, he said. The Air India Express flight from Dubai will arrive at Chennai at 8.40 pm and depart for Dubai at 9.40 pm. It will operate three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from October 30, he said.

Air India Express will serve passengers free standard meals and limited entertainment facilities will be available on flights, Gupta said. Travel agents had been approved to sell "dynamic fare" tickets, which would also be available at Air India's booking offices, he said. There will also be a facility to book tickets online. The fare details are posted on Air India's website, he said.
