Indian Airlines to begin Surat-Delhi flights
BJP MP Kashiram Rana today said that Indian Airlines would start their daily service from Delhi to Surat and back on May 1, the Gujarat formation day. In a telephonic conversation, Rana told UNI that Airbus 319 will leave Delhi at 1030 hrs on May 1 and reach Surat by noon. The return flight from Surat to Delhi will leave from here at 1300 hrs. Rana has said he would be travelling in the flight along with civil aviation minister Praful Patel and Airport Authority of India (AAI) chairman K Ramalingam on May 1. The flight would not stop anywhere en route and will have both economy and business classes on it. Rana said many private airline companies were interested in beginning services from Surat airport and in few months services to different places will be operational. All the arrangements that have to be completed in the Magdella airport in Surat before the first flight lands was discussed at high level meeting held in Delhi yesterday, Rana said. The meeting was attended by AAI chairman K Ramalingam and Indian Airlines chairman Vishwapathi Trivedi.
