GoAir to operate more flights to Srinagar


With an eye on the coming tourist season in the Kashmir valley, GoAir, India’s leading smart fare airline, today announced a new summer schedule introducing daily flights between Srinagar and Mumbai via Delhi. A company spokesman said GoAir was so far the only airline that had direct flights from Mumbai to Srinagar thrice a week. Giving the new schedule, he said there would be three weekly direct flights from Mumbai to Srinagar, 18 weekly flights between Mumbai-Srinagar-Mumbai, 12 weekly Delhi-Srinagar-Delhi, nine weekly flights connecting Jammu and Srinagar and in all 12 connections from Mumbai to Srinagar and Jammu via Delhi. The spokesman said the airline operates a total of 64 weekly flights on Mumbai-Delhi-Mumbai sector, 40 weekly flights between Mumbai-Chennai-Mumbai and 33 weekly flights between Mumbai-Hyderabad-Mumbai.

"Our passengers can now choose a flight at a time convenient to them from the multiple flights that GoAir’s new summer schedule offers across various destinations in India," he added. GoAir has also introduced special low fares for key sectors wherein passengers could avail of the cheapest fares with an added advantage to book tickets for as low as Re 0 on certain sectors. Bookings for these would be open till March 31 for travel up to April 15.The spokesman said GoAir is a "smart fare" carrier promoted by The Wadia Group. The airline took off on November 4, 2005 with scheduled services to Goa, Ahmedabad, and Coimbatore from Mumbai. The airline operates CAT III compliant A320 aircraft with a single class, 180-seat configuration, and plans to expand its fleet to 33 aircraft in three years, he added.
