Kingfisher Airlines ties up with GAMCO

Abu-Dhabi-based Gulf Aircraft Maintenance Co. (GAMCO) is to provide India’s Kingfisher Airlines with maintenance repair and overhaul services for ten of its aircraft. Kingfisher signed a maintenance deal with GAMCO to provide support to the engines and components of ten of the airline’s Airbus A320 aircraft.

Saif Al Mughairy, GAMCO’s general manager, highlighting India’s ambitious growth, said: “We will bring new scale effects and savings to an airline which is on the fast track for further expansion with most modern aircraft. We are keen to further support this market with our products and services.”

Hitesh Patel, executive vice president, Kingfisher Airlines Limited, said that the new cooperation with GAMCO is part of the company’s plan to ensure reliable operational support and to provide regional MRO connectivity across India. He added “The expertise and commitment of GAMCO will facilitate our growth plans and strengthen our position in this highly competitive aviation environment.”

Kingfisher Airlines launched last May with a brand new fleet of A320 aircraft. It operates ten Airbus 320, three Airbus 319 and four ATR aircraft. The order book stands at over a hundred aircraft. Kingfisher Airlines services 18 key business and leisure destinations across India.
