Jet Airways to connect Port Blair & Bangkok with Kolkata soon

A Kolkata-Port Blair flight, an additional one to Delhi and daily ones to Bangkok from the metropolis were today announced by private carrier Jet Airways as part of a major expansion plan in eastern India.

"Jet Airways will operate a daily flight to Port Blair from November 11, an early evening flight to Delhi from December 1 and a daily flight to Bangkok from January 18, 2007 from Kolkata," Jet Chief Executive Officer Wolfgang Prock-Schauer told a press conference at Kolkata.

The Kolkata-Port Blair flight had been fully booked for the next three months, he said. Prock-Schauer said the Centre had allowed Jet to operate a flight from Kolkata to Bangkok, which would be the first ever foreign flight from the metropolis by a private airline. It would also operate a Delhi-Bangkok flight from the same date, he said.
