Continental and Kingfisher announce new partnership

Airline passengers traveling to India will soon be able to benefit from a new partnership agreement. Houston-based Continental Airlines is partnering with Indian carrier Kingfisher Airlines for frequent flyer and airport lounge access reciprocity and future codesharing. Continental has operated daily, non-stop flights between its New York hub, Newark Liberty International Airport, and Delhi since 2005. From Oct. 1, it also will offer daily, non-stop eastbound flights between New York Liberty and Mumbai. Shared frequent flyer privileges and airport lounge access will begin on Oct. 1, with codesharing planned to start by the end of the year. "We are proud to partner with Kingfisher, who share our commitment to excellent customer service," said Larry Kellner, Continental's chairman and chief executive officer. "Our partnership with Kingfisher builds upon our increased service between New York and India."
