Singapore Airlines 50th flight to India from June 24
Singapore Airlines on Monday announced its 50th service to India with the commencement of a flight on the Singapore-Chennai-Singapore sector from June 24 and to commemorate the milestone the airline will offer upto 50 per cent discount on return economy fare to select destinations in South East Asia. The airline manager for Southern India Bharat Mahadevan said that bookings for the special fares would be open for three days from June 19 on the internet only and for outbound travel from June 24. The destinations for promotional fares were Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Hong Kong.
In addition, the airline had brought out a 'boarding pass privileges programme for its Indian customers,underwhich those presenting their airline boarding pass within seven days of their journey would enjoy value added benefits and discounts ranging from dining, shopping, tourist attraction, hotel accommodation to car rental, he said. The airline operates to eight destinations in the country viz double daily flights to Mumbai, eight times a week to Chennai, daily flight to Delhi and Mumbai, four times weekly to Kolkata and Hyderabad and three times a week each to Ahmedabad and Amritsar, he said adding in addition the airline's subsidary regional airline operated daily flights to Kochi and four flights a week to Thiruvananthapuram. Replying to a question,he said the airline hoped to double the number of flights to Chennai from next year.
