Emirates Holidays moves out of Kuoni fold

Emirates Holidays, which was part of the Kuoni Group will now function as a separate entity in the Indian market. It will be part of its own brand and fraternity that is Emirates Airlines. Previously Emirates Holidays had signed on Kuoni to retail the packages through a company called Travelmate. Kuoni confirmed this pullout and added that the tie-up was withdrawn with mutual consent. Kuoni was given charge of Emirates Holidays as due to certain rules, Emirates Airlines could not officially operate Emirates Holidays for a specified timeframe. Speaking about the development of the airlines looking after Emirates Holidays Salem Odaidalla, vice president (India and Nepal), Emirates Airlines said, "Emirates Holidays wanted to broaden the retail distribution and thus decided to take a stand-alone approach and sell the packages. We will sell the packages through the trade across India.

Though the entity is no more solely a part of Kuoni, the Emirates Holidays packages will be still available through Kuoni just like other players in the business. Emirates Holidays packages are available through the travel trade as well as through the Emirates' office". Currently Emirates Holidays has completed two rounds of training sessions with a few agents in New Delhi and Kolkata. The training includes procedures and technicalities involved in conducting business and selling of the Emirates Holidays packages. Next in line for the training sessions are Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kochi, Thiruvanathapuram and Chennai, cities where Emirates Airlines operates.
